How Angkla Started | Message From Our Founder

I have always wanted to change the world, or at least make a small difference. I just had to find something that I am really passionate about, and that is mental health awareness!

Growing up in a very traditional country is not easy, knowing society dictates who you should be and what you should believe in. However, I want to change that and I thought I could do that by running Angkla with my friends. At first, I was hesitant about launching Angkla because I am afraid of rejection, failure and being judged. Now, it is really just a matter of doing what I love and what I am passionate about.

I think passion is important. It is the one that drives you to do all sort of things to make your dreams come true. Since I was 6 years old, like I have mentioned, I have always wanted to make a difference in the world while I can. I wanted to prove to the world that the youth can do anything they can ever imagine. They can fulfill their goals and reach their dreams.

Having been diagnosed with depression is not easy. However, I do believe that my illness does not define me. My courage and determination to win over it does. That is why I started Angkla. I want to empower the youth and literally everyone who struggles with mental health issues, that they can do anything. That they are no different from anyone else in society. Healing is not linear and it is okay not to be okay sometimes. A little bit of hope and faith can lead to greater healing. Small progress is still progress.

I do hope you support me and my team in Angkla. We hope to learn from serving you.
